3 Days Mount Elgon Hiking Safari

Duration: 3 Days
Customizable Safari: Yes

Tour Overview

This adventurous short trekking tour in Eastern Uganda combining mountain hiking, waterfall exploration, and a visit to the Source of the Nile. This guided safari starts and ends in Kampala and is ideal for travelers seeking an active Uganda adventure beyond the classic wildlife safari.

Mount Elgon is the fourth highest mountain in East Africa, rising to 4,321 meters above sea level. It is one of the world’s largest extinct volcanoes and offers diverse hiking trails through bamboo forests, montane vegetation, caves, gorges, hot springs, and scenic ridges. While reaching Wagagai Peak requires 4–5 days, this 3-day hiking safari offers a rewarding trekking experience suitable for physically fit hikers with limited time.

The region is also home to the stunning Sipi Falls and rich biodiversity including forest elephants, buffaloes, monkeys, antelopes, and over 300 bird species, making it a great destination for birdwatching.

This Mount Elgon tour is perfect for adventure seekers, hikers, photographers, birders, and travelers combining gorilla trekking or wildlife safaris with mountain hiking.
